    Diocese of West Texas receives consents for Bishop-elect Angela Maria Cortiñas

    The standing committees and bishops exercising jurisdiction have given the required majority of consents to the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas for its Oct. 19 election of the Rev. Angela Maria Cortiñas as bishop suffragan. Her ordination is scheduled for March 15 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in McAllen, Texas.

And while overall membership during the past decade has steadily dropped, the year-to-year rate appears to be stabilizing.
