Evangelism and Discipleship

The Episcopal Church began a new approach to evangelism in 2015, embracing it as a spiritual practice of naming, sharing, and celebrating Jesus’ love for us and all people. We understand evangelism as an opportunity to invite people to explore where the sacred mystery of divine love might be present in their own lives—and to walk alongside them in the discipleship journey.
As we continue to practice and grow in evangelism and discipleship, we are excited to launch an identity campaign aimed at helping our dioceses and congregations better articulate The Episcopal Church’s distinctive identity and mission. We hope others will experience the richness of our liturgical tradition and the welcome and inclusion of our Episcopal communities as they come to know the freedom and joy in Christ through the hope of resurrection. Look for more information in late 2026.
Our baptismal covenant offers this challenge: “Will you proclaim the good news of God in Christ in word and deed?” We will, with God’s help.
