Centered
What does it look like to live a Jesus-centered life and follow his example of loving God, ourselves, and others? The Centered discipleship curriculum is set up to explore these questions in the context of supportive community—small gatherings of church members, neighbors, and friends—through films and discussion. Groups, whether in person or online, might incorporate a shared mealtime for additional fellowship.
Participants will hear on video from diverse leaders across The Episcopal Church during nine sessions that examine intentional discipleship. Guidebooks offer questions to prompt discussion and build support and accountability among group members.
Below are detailed resources to help train group facilitators, as well as links to the main sessions and participant and leader guidebooks, and more.
Getting started
Find resources below for participants and facilitators, including a three-session training course for group leaders; an introductory webinar on what Centered is and why it matters; and participant and leader guidebooks encompassing all nine sessions.
Sessions
Your Centered small group—ideally six to 12 people—can meet in person or online. The series consists of nine sessions, each of which includes a check-in time, two short films, and discussion. Time can vary from about 60 to 120 minutes, depending on whether both films are watched during a gathering and whether meals are incorporated.
